Security alerts are bombarding IT departments at a fast and furious pace—and security teams are becoming overwhelmed. Why? Because the high volume of alerts usually has limited context, and most are false positives.
To make matters worse, tracing each security alert is extremely time-consuming and often fruitless. And most of these alerts can’t even be seen or understood, making it impossible to protect a network properly. Even legacy security apps and programs don’t always catch attacks because of these blind spots.
To better understand these “alert fatigue” challenges, Illumio commissioned independent research firm Vitreous World to survey 1,124 senior cybersecurity and IT business leaders across 14 industries and eight countries. The research was designed to uncover how organizations are managing detection and response in the cloud in order to determine what’s working and where gaps remain.
The findings revealed a consistent theme: Security teams are doing their best in complex environments, but persistent challenges remain. To learn more about the results of Illumio’s survey and the challenges businesses are facing, contact us today at IllumioSales@radius-climb.com!
